The double breasted suit is a next level statement in comparison to the standard formal frame. Given that it’s in fashion again, it’s so trendy-dendy. And besides being a classical superhero, it is actually a universal attire. It accentuates the waist, offering a more refined and modern silhouette, and it allows countless options for forms and proportions, or at least more than its classic brother.

The big difference here is the overlapping front that hugs the torso. It’s shorter than the single breasted suit jacket, and, along with the high buttoning, elongates and shapes the body. The peak lapel crossing diagonally to the shoulder adds drama to the look and exaggerates the shoulders, making the waist seem smaller.
Inspired by the military style and the 30’s, this suit jacket could go well with some accent details, but Martin wanted to go for the sharp look instead. The buttons are entirely decorative, as the model is not meant to be worn unbuttoned. It’s a well-known fact by all the old-school gents. And by Martin, too, our modern Humphrey-Bogart-kind of icon.
